Setting up for Training Sessions

Take Care of Our Club: every member is responsible for setting up and packing up for training. Here's a run down of the tasks, and where our gear lives.

Setup for Training

  1. Take the blow-up mattress from under the boat to the ramp, unroll it and open the valves to self-inflate. Store the black straps under the red fire hydrant. Close the valves before the boat is moved.

  2. Take the roll of carpet from under the boat and place it with the mattress.

  3. Put the 2 small fenders next to the mattress.

  4. Put the sweep oars (stored under each boat, tucked into the seats) on the walkway.

  5. Put the safety bags and AED dry bag (stored in the lock box) on the walkway.

  6. The AED is to be taken and tethered to the boat

  7. Move the aluminum roller to the walkway and hand it down to the beach (two people on each side)

  8. At low tide, place the large fender next to the aluminium roller on the beach.

  9. At low tide, lay the rubber mats on the rocks.

  10. Secure the key bag, with keys and valuables, in the lock box before loading.

  11. Leave any rollers for our return above the expected tide line.

Pack Up after Training

  1. Don't leave the site until everything is packed away

  2. Open the mattress valves, roll it up and secure it with the black straps. Close the valves and store it under the boat.

  3. Tuck the carpet roll into a seat under the boat.

  4. Return the fenders to the lock box.

  5. Tuck the sweep oars into the seats under the boats.

  6. Return the safety bags to the lock box.

  7. Padlock the roller and trolley together and cover them with the tarp and rubber mat.

  8. Stack the rubber mats neatly under the tree at the far end, past the lock boxes.

  9. Put the key bag in the lock box.

  10. Return any borrowed paddles to the lock box.

  11. Ensure all belongings are taken from the site.
